Company History

September , 14th 1988
SAGA D.C. Management Consulting & Software Development GmbH is founded in Wiesbaden. Key focus of the company is the "Integration in the Informationtechnology". This was also a reason why it was discussed to call the company Triple-I.
The only employees are both owner and managing directors of this company. First customer is, as mostly in these cases, the former employer. In this case a company called DOS Software GmbH, a software company that provided a Mainframe based Payroll program called LOGA.In the same year, the company was moved to Taunusstein, close to Wiesbaden.


 

1989
Successful creation of more customers with extending the focus to support and maintain IBM Operating Systems (Mainframe). Hiring of additional employees to satisfy the requirements of this new area.
Creation of a partnership with a company in Freiburg to better act in the difficult market and to offer a broader range of knowledge. Together with other partner organizations we could offer Expertise in the range fromUnix via OS/2 up to IBMs flagship at that time MVS/XA.

1990
Extending the partnership and hiring the first salesperson. Extendig the system maintenance contracts and get a relationship with a company called SYSTEM that provided a Fax solution for the Mainframe.
Opening a subsidiary in Wiesbaden were the system programmers could better focus on their obligations and to be closer to our customers. Realisation of projects at Deutsche Shell AG in Hamburg (electronic Phonebook and a price calculation system).

1991
The largest customer has gone out of business which created a huge impact on revenue. Winning a project to build an output management system on a JES3 Spooling for a Bank.
Obtaining all shares and re-focus on the initial idea of "Integration" by Jochen Grotepass.

1993
First contacts with OpenConnect System any installation of SNA TCP/IP Gateways. Coninue to implement the Output Management solution at two other German Banks. Winning some IT-Centers as customers.

1995
Joint development of a concept for "AP2AP" - Any Page to Any Printer - together with Mercedes.-Benz AG (today DaimlerChrysler AG). Implementing several SNA TCP/IP Gateways in VSE Systems.

1997
SAGA D.C. becomes a PRO-Partner of OpenConnect Systems. At the same time the complete payroll application of an outsourcing provider is migrated from VSE/ESA to MVS/ESA. Also implementing the Output Management solution for print distribution.

1999
SAGA D.C. moves to Alzey. After a long period of consolidation hiring of employees starts. The project S-Direkt Orderline, a Callcenter implementation of a stock ordering system on an IBM Mainframe using OpenConnects OC://WebConnect PRO and a new frontend application in JAVAlets callcenter agents easily use a highly complex system in the backgroud. This project was build for S-Direkt Wuerttemberg in Stuttgart and is still in use at two call centers.
SAGA D.C. has become a Platinum PRO Partner of OpenConnect Systems and is now able to provide training and support to all OpenConnect customers.

2002
SAGA D.C. wins in an european wide public tender the project P2H (Portal to Host) at the Bundesrechenzentrum in Vienna. With an own SSO Solution and OC://WebConnect PRO SAGA D.C. implemented the complex requirements of the BRZ.
Now all Portal users of BRZ are using PHC (Portal Host Control) to access their application on the Mainframe. Also SAGA.M7 is used as a Load-Balancing and Managementserver solution.

2004
SAGA D.C. announces in October the first Version of SAGA.M31 - Galaxy -. Also SAGA.M9 is implemented at the Bundesrechenzentrum in Vienna and put in production.

 

2005
SAGA D.C. gets a new Corporate Design.
SAGA.M31 - Galaxy - has been successfully implemented in a productive environment.
On March 29, 2005 SAGA D.C. sold the first version of SAGA.M31 - Galaxy - PE (Professional Edition).

The new website goes online.
